The value of working with Occupational Therapists

At Repose we fully appreciate the value of Occupational Therapists and have been working closely with Kate Sheehan for over two years.

A great example of the benefits of working with Kate over the last two years has been the development of the Harlem Porter Chair which will be on our stand B19 at the forthcoming OT Show along with examples from our range bespoke seating solutions. The Harlem was developed specifically for people with Huntington’s disease and designed in conjunction with Kate and Mike Wooldridge, one of the UK’s leading experts in caring for people with the condition.

Tapping into Kate’s knowledge and expertise has been invaluable to us as a manufacturer when we have been developing new products such as the Harlem or updating existing chairs.  Kate has also supported us with the development of training programmes and sales literature (which will be on the stand at The OT Show B19) and we know from feedback that OT’s who recommend our products are benefitting from this relationship.  The in-house training Kate has set up for our sales team has ensured that they are more aware of the medical conditions and how different conditions can affect the way people should be seated.  This enables them to speak with an element of expertise when talking to OTs, end users and retailers who can then make informed decisions about our range of seating.
